I was born in Peekskill, NY.  I attended public schools until 7th grade. For my 8th and 9th grade years I attended a very interesting alternative school in the woods of Maine. There were only 11 students the first year and 7 the next. I was the only girl that last year. 'I walked a mile down a dirt road' to school every day. For high school I attended High Mowing School in Wilton, NH. This was a Waldorf School tucked up on a high hill over looking the foothills of the White Mountains. Cultivating creativity of mind, body and spirit was encouraged. Rudolph Steiner was the founding father of Waldorf Schools. At The University of Maine I took literature classes...only a few. At The Art Institute Of Chicago I spent three and a half years doing an assortment of things. Favorite among them were the ancient Lit. classes, ceramics, paper making and photography. Throughout all of this time, starting at 13, I worked in restaurants, catered, and worked at Oxbow, The Summer School for The Arts in Michigan, as a cook for three summers. Here I was introduced to paper making and continued to play in clay. I moved to Iowa and attended Cornell College where I received my elementary teaching certificate in Reg. Ed and Art Ed. I proceeded to teach in public schools for the next 7 years. Then, I moved to Texas! Of all places for a yankee! But here I am and loving it! I taught art for 5 years and am now 'retired'. I spend my  days in my studio mucking with clay. Houses have been an on going theme since early on. I'm sure it has a lot to with all the places I've lived, all the houses I have called home....more than 30 the last time I counted. My love for myth, fables, religious trends through the ages, architecture and art from as far back as we can reach...all of it finds it's way into my houses. Each a fine thread connected to all that came before and so much a part of the present.
